Spring is my favorite time of year. It arrives with the promise that, no matter what storms have chilled the earth, snow and ice will melt away. Life gets better. The concept of rebirth is as heavenly as cherry blossoms and a fragrant breeze. Easter, Passover - our rites of spring are about hope.
Spring is also about new growth. My immediate family was small when I was a child, just my parents and my one sister. I was always a little self-conscious that we weren't a family of several generations. Today, my immediate family has grown quite a bit. Including children and grandchildren, we count 13. Last week I had the pleasure of time in Fort Lauderdale and thought how grateful I am for growth.
This week I'm redesigning the blog and developing an editorial policy (a survey is in your future!) -- but today I'm mindful of the joy of family and the promise of redemption that sprouts from the recently frozen ground.
If you had hard winter, may your life warm under the spring sunshine and bring forth new growth in the coming days.
